The Musselburgh, Scotland-based firm bought the Korean-made machine from distributor Atech.
"What stood out for us were the quality and the ability to print white and direct to substrate," said Eastern managing director Ewen McLean. "I'm not worried about being the first, we've been guinea pigs for products distributed by Atech before, and in fact the firm has been a supplier for the whole time we've been around."
Eastern provides exhibition, event and retail graphics services to a mix of agency, corporate and retail customers across Scotland including workshop, metalworking and storage facilities from its two 1,200sqm sites.
The Jetrix joins the firm's printer fleet, which includes flatbed, dye-sub, 3.2m solvent, Roland plotter cutters and a Durst lambda.
In addition to the white ink, the Jetrix also offers varnish and primer printing options at speeds of up to 30sqm per hour. It uses greyscale print heads with a minimum drop size of 10pl.
