Since opening its doors in 1889, the Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire-based print and packaging printer has progressed from printing manually using blocks to providing web offset printing for newspapers and magazines, digital printing and a variety of packaging services.
As it grew, the company acquired other printing outfits, until James Duncan Sr, the current deputy managing director’s grandfather, founded Duncan Print Group in 1919. It has been a family-run business ever since.
Duncan Print deputy managing director James Duncan said: “We are very proud of our history and the combined expertise of all of our staff. Over the past few years we have been focusing on providing the best quality printed products, both printed material and packaging, for our customers.
“Our in-house carton engineers enable us to provide innovative bespoke packaging, tailored to the individual customer, and investing in technology has brought every stage of our process up to date to ensure maximum efficiency.”
In recent years, the company has attained a BRC certification to print food-grade packaging and the ISO 9001 quality assurance standard.
It has also put sustainability at the forefront of its business, gaining the ISO 14001 environmental assurance standard.
Managing director Bill Duncan added: “We were really happy to receive our centenary certificate through the post. It is a physical reminder of the long-standing nature of the company.
“We continue to be committed to providing our customers with stand-out printed products, to the highest standards, in a sustainable manner.
“Duncan Print Group is looking forward to an equally long future where we continue to support our customers as their needs evolve.”
