The licence will ensure emissions generated from its business will be offset by Carbon Footprint's wind farm sustainable energy project in India.
The move is part of an on-going green strategy that saw the company awarded FSC and the PEFC chain-of-custody accreditations at the beginning of the year.
Phil Thomson, business systems manager at DSR, said: "The licence will enable us to effectively offset our emissions – as a business we are aware that offsetting alone is not enough."
DSR is implementing a programme, which includes assessing its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and setting targets to effectively measure reductions.
He added the company, which is also ISO14401 accredited, is working with Northamptonshire University "to address these concerns and reduce all of our GHG emissions".
