The 12-page labels, applied to the spice company's Fairtrade range, highlight the environmental benefits of organic farming and include a recipe idea.
Nine different versions of the labels were produced using a flexo press for the base, with the remainder of the label printed litho. The two elements were then fixed together using bespoke machinery at Denny Bros' sister company Fix-a-Form International, also at its Bury St Edmunds site.
A spokesperson for Bart Spices said: "Spice jars are compact in size and we wanted to keep the clean and simple, packaging-free style we have achieved at Bart Spices without compromise. The Fix-a-Form ... has given us the space to give customers more information and recipe help which we hope will encourage brand loyalty and a better understanding of environmental issues."
Denny Bros said that the company had since placed an order for another larger Fix-a-Form, which the 100-staff company has just delivered.
The special packs are on sale in Sainsbury's and Waitrose.
