Steve Williams joined the group in the newly created role in May. His aim is to enhance the company’s offering by enabling greater understanding around the management of the customer journey and the ways in which this can be made more effective.
Williams, who reports to group client services director Kate Regan, has joined the firm following three years at Communisis, where he worked in a variety of roles including sales director, cross-media sales director, client services director and business development director. Prior to that he had worked as sales director at Adare for 11 years.
Delta Group chief executive Mike Phillips said: “We’ve enjoyed a successful year so far, but this is certainly no excuse to rest on our laurels.
“Steve arrives at a pivotal time for the business, and will be fundamental in driving the momentum around building more relationships.
“The combination of his background in marketing services and proven sales success complements the existing experience within the group, which will further enable us to identify and implement the right solutions to enhance the customer journey and deliver true stand-out for our clients.”
Williams added: “The Delta Group’s reputation for implementing insightful campaigns that enhance the customer journey and drive a significant ROI is unrivalled. I look forward to bringing my own experience to the team and enabling further growth.
“We’ve got a very strong film, entertainment and retail client base and I’m looking to try and take that proposition forward.
“We’ve also got excellent retention of clients so there are a lot of positives around the business that I can build on and it’s quite an easy proposition to sell based on the capabilities and the clients that we’ve got.
“I’ve hit the ground running and feel like I’ve fitted into the culture very well. I’ve started to engage with new prospective clients and I’m receiving a really positive response to it. It’s still quite early days but the marketplace is responding well.”
In May the firm signed for two HP Scitex 11000 flatbed printers and a Durst Rho 512R roll-to-roll machine at Fespa, which was held in Cologne, Germany. The three machines are due to be installed in the next two months.
Williams said: “It’s an opportunity to enhance the capabilities to our existing clients but also gives us more leading edge technology and capacity to be able to sell to new clients so I’m looking to take advantage of that through those investments.”
Delta Group employs more than 600 people and has a turnover of £65m. The business operates more than 90 devices at its 32,516sqm premises, half of which are finishing systems, covering screen, litho and digital operations.
