The two 11000s, which will be installed in the next two months, are additional to one that was installed in October 2013 and will replace two of the company’s seven HP Scitex FB7600s.
The Scitex 11000 industrial press was launched last month. HP said the machine, which can print at speeds of up to 650sqm/hr or 127 full-size sheets/hr, can increase versatility and productivity for high volume indoor signage and display applications.
The Durst Rho 512R has a print quality of up to 800dpi and a maximum speed of 350sqm/hr. It can process three 1.6m rolls at the same time.
Delta Group executive director Martin Shipp said: “This investment will boost our capacity and allow us to stay ahead of technology.
“We run seven FB7600s but the technology over the last few years has progressed and this is a natural reinvestment into higher quality, more productive and more efficient HP models.
“The 512R roll-to-roll will help us to expand in new markets where we need high quality, large five-metre capacity. There’s a growing market for fabrics and soft signage in the client base.”
Delta Group employs 610 people and has a turnover of £65m. The business already operates 89 devices at its 32,516sqm premises, half of which are finishing systems, covering screen, litho and digital operations.
