The Taunton, Somerset-based printer, which produces a range of promotional literature and display material for Debenhams' stores, highlighted the Portal online approval module within Apogee and Agfa's new eco-friendly developer and the replenisher system for its Energy Elite plates as the main reasons for the buy.
Lee Hutchinson, production manager at Magenta, said: "The latest version of the Apogee workflow software has taken internet proofing to a higher level of speed, functionality and usability."
Agfa UK plate product manager Mike Loose added that the recent advances made to its developer and replenisher chemistry had the potential to treble the bath life and halve replenishment rates because it is cleaner working and less prone to sludge than conventional developers.
He said: "In the past, you would have been changing the developer after about 1,800 B1 plates, whereas now you can get 4,000-5,000 B1 plates out before you need to change it."
