CreoScitex has released Supertrap - a standalone version of the PDF trap-ping tool from the Prinergy workflow management system.
It can be used with all the group's workflow products, including Brisque, PS/M and iMPAct.
CreoScitex Supertrap is an Acrobat plug-in that allows workflow users to perform vector-based trapping while retaining the open standard of native PDF files. It runs on Windows and Mac OS platforms.
CreoScitex licenses Supertrap from Heidelberg, which originally developed the tool from the DaVinci system, which licensed CreoScitex software.
When CreoScitex's Prinergy development deal with Heidelberg ends, it will either develop its own trapping tool or continue to OEM Supertrap from Heidelberg, said UK marketing manager Maria Machera.
The standalone Supertrap is a native PDF-to-PDF object-based trapper as with the Prinergy integrated version.
It offers multi-page trapping and also allows users to convert spot colour to process colour within the PDF.
