CreoScitex has launched a new PDF utility that is "the answer to a lot of peoples problems with PDF," according to UK marketing manager Maria Machera.
Synapse prepares files using what CreoScitex terms Directives, which can be distributed to other Synapse users to ensure files are prepared correctly.
Via a QuarkXTension it can be used to create a PDF direct from QuarkXPress. Synapse also includes pre-flighting functions from Enfocus PitStop.
Pagelet, another new utility, is a plug-in for Acrobat that allows individual page elements supplied as PDFs to be assembled into complete PDF pages. Through the plug-in users can control scale, position and rotation of individual page elements.
Pricing and distribution have yet to be set for the tools, which the firm expects will be ready in May.
