CreoScitex announced a new platesetter/workflow combination at Northprint that will provide B2 printers with a lower-cost route to thermal CTP than the firms Brisque and Prinergy workflows.
The Lotem 400 driven by CreoScitexs entry-level PS/M workflow was a surprise announcement and one of four new products the firm displayed at the Harrogate show along with its partners Komori and NCS Group.
At the top of its line-up was the Lotem Quantum platesetter. With its 25 plate per hour throughput, the Quantum is the fastest fully automated thermal platesetter on the market.
It can be seen as the one of the first true CreoScitex products as it uses the plate handling architecture of Scitexs Lotem device with the Squarespot imaging developed by Creo.
Another hybrid product on show was the Trendsetter CTP system being driven by a Brisque digital front-end on the Komori stand.
Rounding off CreoScitexs new products at Northprint was the EverSmart Select, a new version of its high-end flatbed scanner.
For users who dont need the productivity of the flagship EverSmart Supreme it provides much of the quality, including the ability to work with oXYgen, its scan once output many software, at a lower price.
The new Lotem 400 is available immediately, and on the first morning of Northprint CreoScitex sold two, one of which was a completely unexpected cold deal.
