Peter Kubik of UHY Hacker Young told PrintWeek that 90 staff had been made redundant as the month-long search for a buyer came to an end.
"The removal of the Bauer work tipped Cooper Clegg over," he said. "The business will be wound down with a skeleton staff."
There had been hopes for a sale following the news that there were two interested parties in the business, but Kubik said that the loss of the contract, thought to be worth around £400,000 a month, had rendered the business unviable.
