Communisis in deal with BASF

BASF is believed to have secured a major ink and consumables deal with Communisis, taking over from rival Sun Chemical.

PrintWeek understands that the three-year contract is worth in the region of 7.5m and is on the back of BASFs contract with Communisis Bowater Business Forms plant.

The deal will include the establishment of BASF-managed inplants at Communisis sites plus consumables such as heatset inks, UV varnish and blankets.

Neither Communisis nor BASF were available for comment as PrintWeek went to press. The contract is believed to be the biggest of its kind for BASF in the UK.
