The Poole-based company, which was founded in 1995, offers a raft of printing services to publishers and self-publishing authors, as well as supporting the manufacturing and training industries.
It said it has continued to invest in emerging technologies over the years to enable it to provide true ‘on-demand print’ at quality levels generally expected of more traditional methods of print. The company currently operates five Canon printers – two colour and three mono.
CMP owner and managing director Paul Dawe told Printweek: “It’s about being flexible enough to see what’s ahead of you and see the markets are changing.
“As technology has improved over the years, we’ve got closer and closer to [litho] levels of quality. Generally, we tend to reinvest in new technology every three to four years.
“Our mono side is a big part of what we do and that’s pretty much been on a par with litho for a long time now. Colour is a different ball game but certainly in the last seven or eight years they’ve been pretty much on a level playing field.”
He added: “It’s been an absolute privilege working with our clients over the past 25 years and although 2020 has proved somewhat a challenge for everyone in our industry, we’re fighting fit and still able to provide the level of service we always have.”
Many of CMP’s clients have been with the company from the beginning, including one of its very first clients, Hamworthy Heating.
Ian Roe, commercial director at Hamworthy Heating, said: “We have a longstanding relationship with CMP over their 25 years in business. They have remained a great supplier for our print jobs and you always get a personal service – we still deal with Paul on many of the projects, as well as his helpful team.
“They have worked on a variety of print jobs for us, from brochures with spot UV covers to wire-bound price books and they have always kept up with changing times.
“In more recent years we moved to a ‘print on demand’ model with them which dramatically reduced our print costs, cut our wastage, and enabled us to react quicker to demand for different print material.
“We always like to work with local suppliers where possible and hope to continue working with CMP for another 25 years.”
CMP owns its 650sqm site and its 10 staff turn over £1.4m.
