Suffolk County Council has granted planning approval subject to a number of conditions, despite Clowes best efforts to thwart it on the grounds that dust from the plant could interfere with its presses.
Chief executive Ian Foyster played down the impact of the decision, saying that it was more a minor irritation than a huge disaster, despite voicing his fears last week.
