According to local newspaper the Lowestoft Journal, RPF closed its doors several weeks ago, with the loss of 25 jobs.
However, Suffolk-based CPI William Clowes, which employs 130 staff, was able to offer jobs to six staff who started at the £12m-turnover company last week.
Managing director Ian Foyster said: "When RPF closed, we were able to catch the ball and take some staff on. There are a few experts down there."
Clowes was bought by former CPI UK chief executive Mike Taylor in May 2007. Taylor later sold his controlling stake in William Clowes to CPI.
