The Mansfield-based firm bought the machine, which is going into its 465sqm premises, from Vivid Laminating Technologies.
Managing director Pete Colman said: “We have a 3.6m-wide Keencut cutter, but we are doing so many larger prints that we knew we needed a 5m cutter. With the longer banners you need that extra length.
“The Trimfast will be a huge help to us, as anything over 3.6m is currently being cut by hand and when we are completing large orders for trade and retail customers, accuracy and speed are important.”
Classic Print has also recently started to use Vivid’s new Boss range of printable media. The business, which was already previously using Boss laminates, has been a Vivid customer since 2007, when it bought an Easymount laminator.
The business prints straight onto vinyl with its Roland or HP Latex devices and then laminates using the Easymount.
“This new vinyl is really versatile. The profiles that Vivid offer for the vinyl are an industry standard for this type of media and the laminate that matches the vinyl is excellent,” said Colman.
Classic Print, which was established in 1984, has three staff; two full-time and one part-time. The business produces a wide range of items, including signs and graphics, posters, banners and flags, business cards, leaflets and flyers, for an array of different customers.
“We find the more that we can offer our customers the happier they are, because it takes the strain off them. Consistency across a brand is what people want,” said Colman.
