Clark has worked in the industry for more than 30 years, and began his career aged 16 as a sheetfed printing apprentice.
He has held a number of senior sales roles, most recently at Walstead Group. He resigned earlier this year and was then on gardening leave.
Clark worked at web offset printer Chromoworks in Nottingham in the early 1980s which is where he first met YM Group’s group sales director Norman Revill.
“Adrian is a highly-skilled salesperson and we’ve gone through our careers together – we were printers on the same machine years ago at Chromoworks!” Revill said.
“We needed some new blood on the commercial side, and it’s good timing as we want to develop our business as quickly as possible.
“Adrian has a lot of respect and is very well-liked in the industry. He will really enhance our team.”
Clark joined the group at the beginning of this month. He will sell across the group’s businesses which include York Mailing, YM Chantry, Pindar, Lettershop Group and Go Direct Marketing.
He said he was relishing the new role, as well as the chance to work with Revill and YM's group sales manager Rob Moules again.
Moules and Clark worked together at Artisan in the early 2000s.
“YM has a wide variety of presses for producing the type of commercial work that is my forte,” Clark said. “The group’s short-grain options are very appealing for some customers. It’s a great opportunity.”
