Located near the main entrance in Hall 20 the JDF Pavilion will feature vendor demonstrations, educational programs and a 30-seat theatre.

Around 22 companies will be involved in demonstrations of real world JDF technology that be bought now.

"At Drupa 2004 we saw the introduction of JDF-enabled products," said CIP4 executive director James Harvey.

"2005 was the end of the 'pioneer' wave," he said. "Now at Ipex it is no longer just hypothetical or a matter of daring. JDF is showing its value in day-to-day operations."

Focus in the JDF pavilion will be on case studies from vendors and users that promise to concentrate on "user education" rather than "product spiel".

"The idea is to educate people through sharing the experiences of others," Harvey said. "Many companies will be hooked up in installations that haven't exchanged data before."

The JDF pavilion theatre will include daily shows from a variety of companies including Heidelberg, Kodak and RR Donnelley.

On 5 April there will also be a special Digital Printing Integration Forum held jointly by CIP4 and UP3I from 1.30-4.30pm.

"This is a first, and potential one-of-a-kind opportunity for users and manufacturers to get a complete picture of how JDF and UP3I can work together," said Rainer Prosi of Heidelbeg and CIP4's technology director.

Companies showing in the JDF Pavilion include: AC&C HSH Group, Creo PODS, Dalim Software, Dr Lauterbach & Partner, EFI, ePrint Direct, Global Graphics Software, Heidelberg, Kodak, LithoTechnics, MAN Roland, Quark, ROI, Screen, Ultimate Technographics.

In addition to events at the JDF Pavilion, there will be dozens of vendors demonstrating JDF-enabled systems throughout Ipex.
