Chromoworks chapel rejects Polestar proposals

The Polestar Chromoworks GPMU chapel has gone against the wishes of the union's national command and voted against Polestar's proposals over redundancies and working conditions.

An announcement on the Nottingham plant's fate from Polestar chief executive Barry Hibbert was due later today (30 November) but it seems likely that it will be closed, ending two months of negotiations that have been marred by GPMU in-fighting.

The chapel voted 69 to 51 against the proposals.
