APG Visual Colour assets sold out of administration

Sheetfed magazine printer APG Visual Colour has gone into administration and its assets have been sold to a Liverpool-based mailing house.

Stockport-based APG, which was founded in 1974 and had a turnover of £2m in 2007, went into administration with Jeremy Woodside and Christopher Ratten, of Tenon Recovery, on 12 May.

Its plant and machinery were sold to mailing and fulfilment house Character Mailing Services shortly afterwards.

Of the 18 staff formerly employed at the Stockport site, 15 have moved across to Character Mailing and Services.

Ratten said: "It is encouraging to see that the market for quality assets remains strong, especially at a time of such economic uncertainty."

Character Mailing Services holds Brett Leefe, Paula Studholme, John Leutton, Annette Leefe and Mark Manville as directors.

As well as mailing, print and print management, it also offers laser imaging and data management.

At the time of writing, Character Mailing Services could not be reached for comment.
