Cestrian invests in training to be best in Europe

Cestrian has opened a dedicated staff-training centre as part of its 4m investment programme announced earlier this year.

This latest addition is part of the firm's plan to become Europe's premier graphics and point-of-sale specialist.

The Manchester-based digital and screen printer tripled capacity in August with a move to a 7,432m2 complex at Cheadle Hulme, near Stockport, consolidating three sites into one (PrintWeek, 19 August).

BPIF chief executive Michael Johnson visited the new training facility and expressed views on the importance of training and enterprise to staff.

Johnson said the new facility was a step in the right direction in terms of the industry catching up with its competitors, and emphasised Cestrian's commitment to employee welfare and training.

A dedicated training officer will be employed at the centre, and Cestrian has promised that all of its 82 employees will receive at least 12 hours training every year. "We have stepped up a gear and it is important the company and its employees are ready for the leap forward," said managing director Paul Whitehurst.
