The machine, which was installed last month and supplied by Terry Cooper Services (TCS), will sit alongside an existing Polar guillotine. It replaces an EBA guillotine, which has been part exchanged.
Century Studios has a longstanding relationship with TCS and, as such, the firm was aware of the CCM Premier options before coming to its final decision.
“It’s a much bigger machine than we had before and allows us to cut bigger sheets, which has its advantages. It’s also got many more programs than the old machine, and has bigger stacks – we can cut two stacks at the same time so it’s more productive,” said director Wayne Salvin.
The CCM Premier 92 includes central lubrication for wear-free bearings and longer intervals between servicing, large air side tables for easier paper handling, and an auto knife function for repeat cutting.
Its deep clamp opening accepts more paper to reduce overall cutting time and infra-red slimline light barriers, according to TCS, and safety is also enhanced with an optical cutting safety line.
12-staff Century Studios, which runs two HP Indigo presses – a 7900 and a 5000 – counts high-street names including DFS, Paul Smith and HSBC among its customer base.
