Terry Cooper Services (TCS) supplied the device, which was installed around two months ago.
The firm, which operates from a 2,787sqm building, had been using a guillotine bought from TCS 14 years ago, but that will now be scrapped.
“The original Schneider guillotine we had from TCS had served us well up until now but we thought we’d give this one a go and we’re really pleased with it; it’s a fantastic bit of kit,” said managing director Jig Battu.
The business looked at alternatives including Perfectas and Schneiders but chose the CCM Premier 115 because it liked the way the machine ran.
“It is easy and fast to set up and produces a great finish,” said Battu.
Features of the CCM Premier 115 include deep clamp opening to accept more paper to reduce overall cutting time, optical shaft encoder on high speed backgauge for faster operation and accurate cutting, and large side tables for easier paper handling.
The machine also features infra-red slimline light barriers and totally enclosed knife change with monitored single shear bolt protection, turnbuckle adjustment, for a quick, easy and safe knife change.
Enhanced features include programmability and memory storage while the machine’s heavy build is said to reduce vibration and improve cutting accuracy.
Battu said the installation has had an immediate impact on the business, improving its quality and increasing its productvity by as much as 30%.
“It is so easy to set up and run that our staff can jump on and off it with jobs and then move onto something else,” said Battu.
“We have greatly increased our throughput and can now complete much more work than we used to.”
