Celloglas in administration but deal 'imminent'

Finishing behemoth Celloglas has gone into administration, however PrintWeek understands that a deal to sell part of the business is imminent.

Paul Clark and Geoff Bouchier of MCR Corporate Restructuring were appointed yesterday afternoon at the lamination specialist.

Around 300 jobs across 13 sites are affected. However, Bouchier told PrintWeek that no redundancies had so far been made at the £24m-turnover business.

Bouchier added: "Management were already in advanced discussions regarding a sale of the business and therefore it is hoped that a sale can be concluded within the next few days."

There is speculation that a new company has been set up to buy five of the sites, however this is yet to be confirmed by either the company or the administrator.

Celloglas declined to comment at this stage.
