The Frome, Somerset-based colour printer has taken delivery of a Kodak Magnus VLF 5570 platesetter and Prinergy 5, Preps Pro v5 and Insite Prepress Portal System 5.0 workflow.
The front-end investment will give production, sales and customer service staff live access to job status information.
It also offers web-based job submission and approval, in addition to on-screen automation, tracking and book proofing.
Kevin Sarney, managing director at BT&D, said: "We have been running for a year now and are very keen to continue adding to the value of our business by investing in state-of-the-art technology.
"The addition of the Magnus VLF 5570 and first-rate output technology is further evidence that Butler Tanner & Dennis is at the forefront of the printing industry."
Last month, the company completed a "significant" six-figure refurbishment of its case-binding line with a Kolbus jacketing machine.
The Kolbus SU 651 began operating at the plant in July and is attached inline to BT&D's existing case-line, which has recently been refurbished.
