Modular vehicle branding specialist Brandfixx has purchased a Zünd G3 L-2500 digital cutter for its production facility in Hull.

Launched in 2020, Brandfixx offers a bespoke vehicle branding service that is designed to be simpler, more versatile, and less expensive than traditional vehicle wraps. It uses 3D scanning technology to create a modular kit that perfectly fits every panel of a vehicle.

Managing director Greg Saunderson said: “Our new solution has been specifically developed to be a quicker and more cost-effective solution for vehicle branding.

“Brandfixx simplifies the design, production, and application process, resulting in substantial cost savings against traditional methods and considerably less downtime per vehicle. Being completely modular, it also makes it easier to replace or repair vehicle branding.”

The business said its process also offers a substantially lower carbon impact compared to painting or traditional vinyl wrapping methods.

“With our kits being 100% modular, we’re able to nest the panels on the vinyl roll minimising waste and reducing ink,” said Saunderson.

“The quicker installation times also means lower electricity demands and reduced need for multiple fitters. Every step of our process is designed to be as efficient as possible.

“As a company we strive for perfection and to achieve that requires continuous investment in the best technology.”

The business wanted a digital cutter that could deliver +/- 0.1mm accuracy and “exceptional cut quality”. Having used Zünd cutters at a sister company, Brandfixx decided the Swiss manufacturer’s kit would be the best fit for its requirements and took delivery of the G3 L-2500 at the end of November.

“Zünd cutters are an excellent choice for us because they take great pride in quality and efficiency. We opted for a Zünd G3 L-2500 equipped with Leibinger part-marking solution,” said Saunderson.

“Our material wastage has reduced by 50% on jobs, which in return reduces our customers’ carbon footprint. The Zünd software also gives us great insight into our cutter’s productivity and allows us to create efficient KPIs for the business.

“Furthermore, the addition of the Leibinger to our new Zünd cutter has significantly improved our workflow process and turnaround time on installation jobs.

“Typically, each vehicle we work on will be fitted with 80 modular pieces and having the part-marking ability from our Leibinger has reduced installation time significantly. Fitters can easily associate each piece to the relevant part of the vehicle, increasing productivity by 100%. This is great because we can now pass these savings to our customers.”

Zünd UK will be offering live product demonstrations at its Sign & Digital UK stand at the NEC, Birmingham from 22-24 March 2022.
