The machine, which was installed in December, added 3.2m-wide cutting capabilities to the Chesterfield-based company’s offering, as well as that of its sister companies Banner Box Print Solutions and Flagmakers.
It joined a Zünd PN Series flatbed that has been running onsite for 13 years.
Managing director Paul Noble said: “The business needed to increase productivity to keep up with the increasing demands from our customers and ensure we continue to provide them with an excellent level of service.
“Zünd digital cutters are well known in our industry. The build quality, precision and productivity these state-of-the-art cutters offer is outstanding. Furthermore, our existing relationship with Zünd through our PN Series machine meant we knew the level of service we would get: a company that would go above and beyond for their customers.
“Having visited the Zünd demonstration facility in St Albans, we were sold on the modularity and productivity the current generation of Zünd cutters offers. It’s giving us capacity beyond our necessity and ensures there is further room for growth, which is a very desirable position to be in.”
Zünd’s G3 3XL-3200 digital cutter runs on a 3.2x3.2m flatbed and comes with a wide gamut of cutting tools to allow for a broad range of material compatibility.
At Specialised Canvas, it is now running on a three-shift production schedule. Through its subsidiary companies, it also provides large-format print and flagmaking. Its key clients include companies in the transport sector, as well as camping goods and the consumer market.
