Gwent-based T Harding, which traded as Creative Print and Design, went into administration with PKF on 23 December 2008. The company has ceased trading and the staff have been made redundant, but a potential sale of the business is still on the cards.
Administrator Keith Morgan has previously said that there was interest in the company, but no bid had been made due to complications with a grant from the Welsh Assembly Government.
He told PrintWeek that despite the continuation of the delay a bid had been tabled, and the potential buyer was not concerned about the length of time passed since the company closed.
Morgan said: “A bid has now gone in, but it won’t go through until assistance from the WAG has been confirmed. I am cautiously optimistic. The buyer has contacted customers and apparently there is a very good chance that they will come back. Obviously they wouldn’t go ahead if the customer base was not there.”
CPD was bought out of administration by Cromwell Print Group in February 2008. But when its parent hit financial troubles at the end of this year and went into administration CPD again suffered.
Cromwell has since been bought by print industry veteran John Boden.
Bid lined up for defunct CPD turns on Welsh Government grant
The administrator for Welsh printer T Harding and Son has said that he is "cautiously optimistic" of making a sale, despite the company being in administration for more than three months.
