The company bought the B1 Sprintera 106-PER due to it's impressive 35% sales growth. "We know that to sustain this success we have to be constantly on the look-out for new technologies," said managing director Mark Kerridge.
Using Power Register, the Sprintera automatically registers die-cutting to print. It works through an optical recognition system that identifies the print on sheet, moving the board accordingly.
The company, which produces more than 5m cartons each week, initially considered installing two 8,000sph die-cutters, but reconsidered when it saw the 12,000sph Sprintera.
"Taking the faster, single machine means we can run off jobs much more quickly and we also need only one additional crew for each shift," explained Kerridge.
