The 22m-turnover commercial printer aims to reduce its paper costs with the Apollo CTS.
"We buy 12,000 tonnes of paper every year so it seemed like the sensible thing to do," said Belmont managing director Trevor Thomas.
The 1,450mm wide CTS sheeter, capable of 300 cuts per minute, was specified with two reel stands, effectively doubling its productivity.
Apollo sales manager Peter Stokley claimed that the offline option makes more sense than inline units such as Heidelberg's CutStar. "We've never understood why printers wanted to tie up so much cash in one print line," he said.
Northampton-based Belmont's press battery is made up of six Heidelberg Speedmaster 102s, including two 10-colour and two eight-colour perfectors, and two SM 52s. The CTS will supply all eight with sheets.
The sheeter is part of a 2m spend that includes a NexPress Digimaster 9150, and two Heidelberg ST400 stitching lines due in October.
