Glendale invests in Heidelberg Suprasetter 74

Glendale Print and Finishing has invested in a new Suprasetter 74 platesetter from Heidelberg, following its decision to upgrade from visible light to thermal CTP.

The Suprasetter, which replaces a Screen platesetter, was specified with automatic plate loading, as well as the latest Prinect Signastation software.

Alan Collins, managing director at the Tunbridge Wells-based print and finishing house, said: "Glendale has been a Heidelberg house from a pressroom perspective for a number of years and so it made perfect sense to extend that to our pre-press."

Glendale, which runs a five-colour B2 and B3 speedmaster, has signed a plate deal for Heidelberg’s own brand Saphira chem-free plates and premium proofing paper.

Kelvin Lander, sales manager at Glendale, said: "Our old platesetter was was about six or seven years old so, with the Suprasetter, the plates are a lot cleaner, they ink up a lot quicker and it’s just a much cleaner system."

Glendale employs around 15 staff and provides a range of commercial print and print finishing services to customers around the M25, including wiro binding.
