Arjowiggins takes 'step forward' with green paper grades

Arjowiggins has launched Satimat Green and announced that its Maine gloss Chromomat & Satimat (MCS) products have become FSC certified.

Satimat Green is a two-sided, coated, wood-free grade that contains 50% recycled fibres and 50% FSC certified virgin fibres.

The MCS grades are available in weights of 90-400gsm and are distributed by paper merchants Elliott Baxter and PaperCo.

Arjowiggins UK and Ireland sales and marketing director David Cook said: "As a business we have made a long-term commitment to address the major global issue of climate change.

"Product developments such as this play a key role in our green strategy and enables Arjowiggins to take major steps forward in reducing the environmental impact of its business."

Satimat Green can be used for reports and accounts, catalogues, brochures, direct mail and publications. It is distributed exclusively by Elliott Baxter.

Arjowiggins has 8,000 staff, 35 paper mills worldwide and generates annual sales of around €2bn (£1.6bn). It has reduced its carbon emissions by 5% over the last two years.
