The announcement by ArjoWiggins follows that of August Koehler, which is to raise the prices for its Reacto reels and sheets products by 27 (EUR40) per tonne with effect from 1 February 2006.
ArjoWiggins said it intends to increase its prices for its Idem carbonless reels and sheets products by 34 per tonne with effect from mid-January 2006.
The firm said it has experienced a large increase in the price of its raw materials, energy and logistics costs, and had delayed until now the decision to pass this increase onto customers.
Other producers are now expected to follow suit.
