Nick Schiller, the former manufacturing operations director at LDV (Leyland Daf Vans), has joined the group to replace Chris Adams.
Schiller said that he was attracted to print because it is a business "where decisions are taken locally and where there are connections with the community in which you operate".
His appointment follows the recent completion of a 12.5m upgrade to the firm's Thorpe Print Centre, which included two new Goss Colorliner towers and a third folder.
Archant chief executive John Fry said that Schiller's appointment was "the final piece in our strategy to create a culture of continuous improvement at Archant Print."
He added that Schiller would bring "fresh eyes, fresh ideas and a fresh perspective to our business".
