APP cuts European lead times for graphic and speciality

Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) has cut European lead times for its graphic and speciality papers to around a week after expanding its warehousing facilities in Antwerp, Belgium.

APP has added graphic and speciality paper capacity to the 10,000sqm hub facility, which already stocks packaging grades and is one of four APP logistics hubs in Europe.

As a result, it will now be able to cut delivery times to printers in northern Europe from several weeks to seven to 10 days for orders of between five and 25 tonnes, in line with its lead times for customers in southern, central and eastern Europe.

Key graphic and speciality paper grades affected include Nevia Plus, Impression 2000, Enova, and Enova Recycled. Graphic and packaging boards available include Sinarvanda and Zenith GC1; Sinarpack and Proxima GC2; and Savvicoat and Ningbo Star SBB/SBS.

Danilo Benvenuti, regional sales director for APP, said: "One of APP's fundamental goals is to support our customers in growing their businesses profitably. Therefore, we are pleased to be introducing greater product availability and shorter lead times.

"As a result of our shorter lead times, our customers will be able to reduce their stockholding requirements and free up cashflow - something we believe is a critical advantage in today's competitive market."

APP's four European warehousing hubs, in Belgium (10,000sqm), Italy (10,000sqm), Latvia (3,000sqm) and Spain (3,000sqm), are supplemented by a range of sheeting facilities in focus markets such as the UK, Spain, France, Italy and Austria.

Direct from mill capacity will be retained to provide additional capacity in specialist orders and to fulfil larger orders.
