Antalis Packaging boosts sales by 24%

Antalis Packaging has increased its sales by 24% for the year ending 2008, and said it is hopeful that it will report a similar figure at the end of 2009.

The boost to sales comes off the back of a series of business wins, including a two-year contract with building and plumbing merchant Wolseley UK. The company has also bolstered its standard stock product lines.

National business manager Marc Jacobs said: "The logistics capabilities were a major factor in being able to service customers nationwide.

"Our new business wins in 2008 were all national customers that wanted a local service."

He said Antalis Packaging is bucking the trend, mainly because it has a relatively small market share.

The business is generating a lot of interest from larger organisations, which are looking for "bespoke packaging solutions", he added.

Antalis Packaging operates out of a UK head office in Coalville and services its customer base through 15 regional centres. In 2008, the 25-staffed team grew by six staff.

Jacobs predicts the division will record at least an additional 24% sales increase over 2009, and he is also expecting to take on extra staff later in the year and increase product ranges.

Antalis Packaging specialises in corrugated, stretch films, polythene, cushioning and void fill, along with standards consumables such as tapes, postal products, strapping and bubble wrap.
