The workshops have been running since September 2014 and are aimed at printers wanting to investigate new applications.
New topics for 2016 include achieving consistent colour, static control in digital print and large-format applications aimed at printers looking to expand their knowledge of new technology and explore opportunities to enable them to extend their services.
Past topics have included signmaking, colour management, vehicle wrapping and the fine art market.
12 workshop dates have already been confirmed for 2016, starting on 19 January, with the final confirmed on 5 April, and the firm has promised more as the year progresses.
The workshops normally take place at the company’s Digital Academy, based at its headquarters in Coalville, Leicestershire, although the workshops on 3 and 17 February are held at Velmex Distribution in Mitcham, Surrey.
Antalis digital support manager Giles Bristow said the events are designed to give delegates hands-on experience, take-away examples and a thorough understanding of each area.
“This year’s workshops seek to offer print service providers an opportunity to not only learn new skills to develop their businesses, such as the ‘Introduction to the large format market, printers and applications’ workshop on 28 January, but also to improve efficiency of their current operations,” said Bristow.
“Improving efficiency is clearly a theme in our ‘Introduction to static control in digital print’ workshop on 25 February.
“This is aimed at anyone interested in gaining a greater understanding of the issues that static electricity can cause in digital print and furthermore solutions to prevent static affecting quality and productivity and operator shocks.”
Colour management is represented in five of the 12 workshops. It is also included in the new ‘EFI Fiery XF RIP training’ workshop on 17 February.
All workshops are tutored by independent experts in their respective fields and Antalis said a maximum of only eight attendees on each workshop ensure that these days are cost-effective and profitable in the long term for printers.
Places cost £75. For more information about the content included in each of the 12 workshops, or to book, visit www.digital2business.co.uk/digital-academy or email digital.academy@antalis.co.uk.
