Ashford Colour Press in Kent and DP21 in Glasgow spoke to ATIs Henri Banks, who promised to put between 2,700 and 3,500 worth of work through them each month, as long as they paid ATI 2,800 (E3,930) on signing the contract.
We were told that the money would be refunded after theyd spent E5,000 with us or after two months, said Ashford Colour Press managing director Rob Hutcheson. When the contract was faxed through there was no mention of the two months and when we phoned to find out more they slammed the phone down.
But Banks said this was the way the company had always done business. The first order was guaranteed to come within 20 days of the contract, and it was down to misunderstandings and time-wasting that his colleague was forced to hang up on one of the printers.
