Anger grows over Traxdata's rebirth

More creditors of Traxdata Wales have expressed incredulity at the way the firms assets were bought out of administration and reborn as Alpha Digital.

Reflex Print & Pack-aging, based in Caerphilly, performed finishing work for Traxdata for several years, but has been forced to absorb 55,000 of bad debt after the MBO (PrintWeek, 15 June).

A director of Reflex Print & Packaging said: "We were on the verge of issuing a winding-up petition but their accountancy firm negotiated a deal and we received a cheque.

"But it was cancelled by the company."

Traxdata Wales ceased trading on 4 June after directors placed it into ad-min-istration; Alpha Digital started trading the following day using the same premises and telephone numbers.

The two companies have common directors, including Graham Dent, Christopher Dunn and Gerald Cutts.
The Reflex director said: "I feel very angry about the way the whole thing was conducted."

He said the 55,000 loss could mean Reflex would record a loss for the first time in its 10-year history, although its long-term fut-ure was not in danger.

Another firm that supplied components for CD casings is owed over 3,000.

Alpha Digital sales dir-ector Jeremy Rose admitted that Traxdata Wales had been owed a substantial sum by parent company Trax-data.

He said: "We could have continued trading under difficult conditions or move the business forward. Weve saved around 80 jobs in the community and retained a good order book and client base. Weve been supported by our suppliers."
