Fourteen months after acquiring Olympus Print Group, the Hamburg-headquartered firm has added to its UK capabilities with the acquisition of Hull-based Springfield Solutions.
Last week it also bought four companies in Brazil to add to its global offering.
Family-owned Springfield Solutions was founded by Albert Dass nearly 50 years ago.
The current managing director is his son, Matt Dass.
Matt Dass said that from the first discussions between the two parties “it was clear that our vision, mission and values are completely aligned”.
“Partnering with All4Labels and its packaging design unit All4Graphics will accelerate our joint vision of being the world leader in the supply of sustainable, digital packaging assets.”
Springfield Solutions moved into digital printing in 1996 and became 100% digital in 2012. It runs a raft of Screen digital presses and a year ago became a beta testing partner for Actega’s Ecoleaf no-foil metallisation system.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed. Springfield Solutions employed 94 according to its most recent abbreviated accounts. Shareholders’ funds in the year to 31 December 2022 increased to £6.4m from £5.7m. Matt Dass was the majority shareholder.
The management team remains in place.
All4Labels COO Dr Günther Weymans commented: “We believe that Springfield Solutions with their vision to be a world leader in the supply of innovative and sustainable digital packaging assets complements our digital business perfectly.
“With both our sites in the UK All4Labels will now be able to offer a wider range of products and services to an even broader range of customers both locally and on an international level. Finally, I would like to thank all parties involved for their trust and valuable support in this project.”
Albert Dass said it had been his life’s ambition to pioneer the way print and packaging is produced.
“Joining the All4Labels Group will ensure we continue to do this for the next 50 years,” he stated.
Springfield Solutions produces labels for a wide range of markets including beauty, food and drink, household cleaning, chemicals, and can labelling.
The Brazilian firms acquired by All4Labels were Faberprint, Allbox, Involv Labels and Visionflex.
All4Labels has sales of more than €800m (£687m) and operations across Europe and in Mexico, South America, South Africa and China. Its majority shareholder is investment firm Triton.
