The Manchester-based company, which offers a complete signmaking service from design, engineer and manufacture to installation from its 2,000sqm premises, took delivery of the machine around five weeks ago.
The majority of Ainsley Signs’ customers are large blue-chip companies that supply the construction industry with bespoke signage for upcoming housing developments. The business runs Mimaki and Roland DG printers, a Canon Océ Arizona UV flatbed and a CNC router.
It came across the Bubble Free Pro Applicator at Sign & Digital UK during a review of various options on the market and decided that the machine was the best fit for its requirements.
“The majority of our work is a minimum of 2m high and none of the other manufacturers could offer an applicator in the size we wanted,” said commercial director Josh Ainsley.
“The Bubble Free Pro Applicator has doubled our production speed so we can get things out the door a lot quicker now – it’s saved us a lot of money so far.”
While the 27-staff company invested around £20,000 in a 2.2x7m version of the machine, which is the largest to be installed in the UK to date, the device is also available in widths of 1.5m and 1.7m, with pricing starting from £8,995.
Ainsley added: “I would advise any company that currently use water to lay prints and dislikes waiting for them to dry out to invest in one of these applicators.
“It has proved a complete godsend for us and we are looking forward to investing in another one to enable us to keep up with the expansion in business we are experiencing.”
