Adverset moves into large-format with Mimaki press

Adverset Media Solutions has moved into the digital and large-format market after it installed a new Mimaki CJV30-160 press as part of an 80,000 investment.

A 62Base laminator and a Fotoba WR61 cutter have also been installed at the Scarborough-based company, which now provides leaflets, promotional literature, and a range of large display and exhibition products.

Managing director John Easby said it was logical that the £1.6m-turnover company's next major investment was in large-format printing.

"We have been designing large-format promotional material for a number of years and the business has grown," he said.

"We see plenty of opportunities for our new service in retail, entertainment, conference, exhibitions and industry."

Easby said there are plans to expand this side of the business and other areas through diversification.

However, he said there will be plenty of challenges during 2009, and the company hopes to keep ahead by planning ahead and being prepared for change.

He said: "We aim to keep positive in an uncertain, price pressure market, when costs such as paper are still rising.

"Maintaining quality and service is essential to ensure profitability when prices are under pressure."

Adverset also offers design and small- to medium-format offset print services.
