The desktop machine collates, folds, inserts and seals outgoing mail at speeds of up to 2,400 mail pieces per hour and can handle A4 and A5 sheet sizes.
It features a flexible feeder design that can be configured with up to two document feeders, an optional inserts feeder and an envelope feeder.
The machine automatically detects the size of the documents loaded into the feeder and collates and assembles all documents prior to folding.
Set-up is via a simple touchscreen control and users can choose from four types of fold (letter, zigzag, single or double parallel) or opt for no fold. The AMS 6500 can handle up to eight 80gsm sheets at a time in a single fold, stapled or unstapled.
Kevin McPheat, managing director of AMS, said: “We are delighted to be adding the AMS 6500 folder-inserter to our range of mailing equipment. AMS has supplied over 200 folder-inserters to customers and have leading expert knowledge in this area.
“The AMS 6500 is the most versatile, compact design we have seen to date, making it ideal for businesses that send out a lot of mail but can only spare a small space.”
The machine starts from £6,280 and can also be specified with Flexstream software, which enables users to add scancodes to documents, and OMR/BCR scan technology to process mail automatically.
