Q&A: Patsy Taylor Sales account manager, Emtone Print

Hot on the heels of the special feature in our last issue about family-run print firms, we have a new joiner at family-owned Emtone Print in Bath. It’s Patsy’s first year in print, no less.

The 28-year-old describes herself as “single and ready to mingle”, and her hobbies include socialising with family and friends, travel, cooking and eating out.

What is your nickname?

Pickle

Why did you get into printing?

I’m the first of the second generation to get into the family business. After three years living abroad and many years of hearing all about print around the dinner table, I decided it was a new challenge and something that I wanted to be involved in. I’ve worked in sales for a number of years and have a marketing degree so I’m looking forward to putting my experience to good use.

What would you most like to print?

I really love fashion and design. We work with some great companies, and a brand that I would like to print for is Tom Dixon, his stuff is amazing.

What’s your favourite TV programme?

I love the commentary on Come Dine with Me. Ashamedly, I also like a bit of reality TV, Real Housewives or Towie. Bet you don’t get that answer very often do you?!

Who or what do you hate the most?

This is a difficult one. I’d like to say I don’t hate anyone, but things I do hate are ignorance, injustice and Crocs (the shoes, not the reptile)

What is your favourite album?

Sam Smith, In the Lonely Hour. I can’t stop listening to it

What is your favourite book?

I recently read Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn, author of Gone Girl. She’s a fantastic writer and her books are always so exciting

What is your greatest luxury in life?

My family. After living abroad, I really appreciate being so close to my family and friends here and it is a luxury being able to spend time with them

Who would you like to be stuck on a desert island with?

Cameron Diaz. She’d have lots of fun stories and I think she’d be good at hunting for food and shelter too!

Who or what makes you laugh?

My sister has a very dry, clever sense of humour, her one-liners make me laugh, a lot

Which celebrity would you like to get out of here? Why?

Kim Kardashian, just for a while anyway. I think we all need a bit of a break from her

Most embarrassing moment?

Revealing that my nickname is Pickle!

Who would be your favourite party guests?

Dave Lamb, narrator of Come Dine With Me, Parky, Thierry Henry, John Bishop, Beyoncé, Adele, Alan Carr and a good wine selection

Where would you go if you could time-travel?

Back to the 1930s when fashion was so elegant and the architecture so good

What was the best business deal that you’ve pulled off?

My first order in this role. I didn’t know the industry that well or have a lot of contacts, I got on the phone and saw people, and it’s working!

Life is…?

For living, working hard and enjoying yourself
