Started as an apprentice

Q&A: John Jones, managing director, Powlsons Design and Print

Jones: fashion fan

John started working at Powlsons in October 1974, initially as an indentured apprentice, and then worked his way up to become manager and then managing director 20 years ago.

He has just celebrated 50 years at the Colwyn Bay business. He is an active runner, and last year ran marathons in Japan, London, Chester and Marathon Eryri “which is the hardest marathon in the UK”. Last year he was also selected to represent Wales in the veteran V65 section of the Chester Marathon Wales vs England. He is married to husband Robbie.

Why did you get into printing?
