Why did you get into printing?
At 15, I was following my father into his potato business having worked on every process involved with spuds. He died suddenly aged 42 and left mum with six kids. My older brother and I left school straightaway and got jobs to help out with the youngsters. Mike became a joiner, I became a printer

I hate the so-called customer service that companies inflict on us, you have to press so many buttons before you can speak to a human being

What is the strangest job you’ve ever done?
I took a second job bottling milk at 5.30am to help save up for our first house

To get down to scratch handicap

My wife usually and my beautiful grandchildren
