WHAT? The Landmark EcoCalendar is a 100% environmentally friendly calendar that can be planted in soil after use to grow a variety of country meadow wild flowers.
WHO? The calendar was created by Landmark Information Group, which provides environmental risk information to home buyers and the property industry.
WHERE? Each sheet of paper was handmade on traditional moulds at The Two Rivers paper mill in Somerset, using recycled pulps, predominantly printed shavings and copies of old Yellow Pages. All this material was sourced from the Frogmore paper mill at Hemel Hempstead.
how A gentle production and drying process allows the seeds embedded in the paper to stay alive. This would not have been possible in the high temperatures normally associated with industrial manufacturing. Similarly, Tunbridge Wells-based Crucial Colour used screen printing to ensure the seeds were not damaged. Branded labels were then litho printed and attached to the final product.
WOW! This is the first 100% recycled, seeded calendar that can be planted directly after you have finished using it for its more traditional purpose. EcoCalendar forms part of Landmark’s ongoing commitment to the environment. A limited number of calendars are available to Printing World readers free of charge by emailing landmark@trimediauk.com
