Four years after Heidelberg consigned its B2 Speedmaster 74 DI to the history books, Presstek is entering that same market with a new, larger-format DI model to flesh out its range. Mark Sullivan, group product director digital printing, says the move has been driven by market demand, and is the fulfilment of our customers’ wishes. The 16,000sph machine is based on a conventional tower press, so it will also allow customers the flexibility to choose custom configurations such as five- or six-colour variants, together with coating options. UV is set to be added next year. Pricing depends on configuration but will be circa £533,000 for a four-colour model. On show at Ipex will be a five-colour model.
