The €9,000 (£6,438) package, which will enable users to boost speed and image quality, runs on the IJP 2000’s Caldera GrandRIP+. It is available immediately as a retrofit or as an optional add-on to the €110,000 machine.
Xerox XE wide-format manager Luis Heras said: “There has been a lot of interest in this so far as we have many customers with this machine that need a little bit more quality management from the applications.”
The IJP 2000 with the Performance Package was on display on the firm’s stand alongside the Fotoba FHS42 inline cutter.
The IJP 2000, which was launched at Fespa 2013, prints at up to 420sqm/hr, producing high-quality colour signs in as little as five seconds, 10m banners in one minute and production runs of 200 prints in around 20 minutes, on media as wide as 1,070mm.
The inline Fotoba FHS42 cutter, which was announced last month, increases automation and accelerates delivery speeds. It has one horizontal and as many as four vertical trimming blades for 1-, 2-, or 3-up full-bleed finishing.
The system reads embedded crop marks on each print to align and continuously adjust its cutting blocks to deliver cuts accurate to 1mm.
Xerox partnered with Fotoba to customise the cutter to match key specifications of the IJP 2000, including synchronising speeds and qualifying the same wide range of media.
Xerox Graphic Communications Business Group general manager Arnaud Linquette said the business made a number of new leads and sales at Fespa, and that the company’s return to the wide-format sector was proving successful.
“Wide-format is a very important complement of our digital printing business,” said Linquette.
“Fespa is a good show because it’s a show of specialists; the visitors are very focused and targeted and they know exactly what they are looking for. It’s a good opportunity to meet potential customers and resellers in a very dedicated way.”
