The need for better training for designers on how to prepare and submit jobs, and the role printers and software vendors could play in that were highlighted.
Andy Psarianos, technical director of FE Burman, added that the Ghent Workgroup, Digital Ad Lab and PPA had all worked hard to develop standards and best practice guidelines, which were freely available online to assist in that training.
Other topics included how the increase in short runs is driving the need to totally automate pre-press while integrating it more closely with web-to-print and MIS.
